Counselors
Calling all wacky Christian soldiers! If you love kids and long to see God set free the hearts of children who are wrongly held captive by pain and abuse, pray about becoming a counselor with Julian Oaks Youth (JOY) Ministries.
JOY Ministries reaches the hearts of wounded children by pairing them with caring Christian adult counselors. Each counselor is given two same-sex campers for the week and spend their time building a redemptive relationship based on God's love. Our low camper-to-counselor ratio means that the children receive a great deal of personal attention. It is primarily within the trust and love of this relationship that Jesus' love frees the hearts of these children.

Counselors are encouraged to build relationships with the campers while at the same time engaging in carefully scheduled and structured camp activities. The activities include three daily worship gatherings and bible teachings, games, arts and crafts, hiking, swimming, cooking meals together, one-on-one times, small group bible studies and more.
To become a counselor:
- Download counselor application, send it in to the office
- Wait to hear back from camp staff
- Complete interview
- Approval of background check
- Attend counselor training
- Sign up for a week of camp!
